Plants Science Experiments & Teaching How Plants Grow
This is a good method to experiment with your little ones.
Slowly pour some water into the test tubes to wet the cotton swabs but do not flood it. If you have any excess water at the bottom, pour it out. You want the cotton swabs to be damp, not soaking wet. Place the seeds on the cotton swabs. Be ensure they are firmly in place. Cover the first cotton swab with a second one. Close the test tubes with the lid.
Place the stand near a sunny window.
Now it's time to watch your plant grow. Use the downloadable chart to track your plant's growth over the next few weeks.
You might have noticed that the roots are quite entangled in the cotton balls. Don't worry. You can plant the cotton balls along with the seedlings! Dig a small hole in the soil, plant the seedlings with the cotton balls, and cover the plants and cotton balls with the soil.
